Trust Yourself

No One Will Trust You—Until You Do

It may sound like a cliché, but it holds true in every era: if you want others to trust you, you must first trust yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will want to take that risk. You’ll notice many people around you whom no one trusts—they’re seen as irresponsible and unreliable, and they’re often rejected. You can clearly sense from their speech, expressions, and actions that they lack self-trust.

People recognize us by the way we behave and act. In doing so, we create an image of ourselves in their minds. When we display helplessness, inferiority, and weakness through our expressions and words, others immediately perceive us that way and treat us accordingly. On the other hand, those who take a stand and make bold decisions create an atmosphere of trust. They naturally become trustworthy. Such individuals often accomplish their tasks and achieve success.

God helps those who help themselves. He supports those who are ready to support themselves.

There is a great story about Thomas Edison. When he was working on inventing the electric light bulb, he faced thousands of failures. In the process, he tried over 10,000 different materials for the filament before finding one that worked.

A reporter once asked him about his failures, “How did it feel to fail 10,000 times?”

Edison replied confidently,
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

This mindset is an excellent example of self-confidence. Edison’s unwavering belief in his vision and his ability to succeed eventually led to one of the most important inventions in human history.

So, what should you do if you’re struggling with self-doubt? Start simple. Take small steps. Focus on the task at hand today and try to complete it with full dedication. Have complete faith in your strengths and skills. Work on them and also strive to improve your weaknesses—but make your strengths even stronger. Use all your abilities and energy to pursue your goals. Be determined to succeed with all your heart and soul.

Stop speaking in a weak or self-deprecating tone. Learn to work with seriousness, enthusiasm, and determination.

Remember—success in this world comes to those who are self-confident.
